The News announces the winners of the Latin Excellent American Awards 2009. It is the tenth first delivery of these prestigious awards that recognize the work of outstanding local leaders in different areas.

The committee of selection of Excellent realized an exhaustive work choosing to the winners, based its decision mainly on remarkable profits and contributions to the community of Charlotte. This year three new prizes are included that they look for to recognize the work of the educators and the diversity in the labor force of the companies: Professor of the Year, Diversity and Inclusion in Grande Company (more than 500 employees) and Diversity and Inclusion in Pequeña Company (less than 500 employees).

The winners are:


Prize to Person of Communitarian Work of the Year: Edith Valladares McElroy. She is director of the Division of Foreign Languages and English Academic like Second Language, of the Power station Piedmont Community College (CPCC).
